Tabbies
Three colours are recognized in tabby-patterned cats, and a very exact and classic marbled design is essential in show and breeding stock, whatever the coat colour. There are three tabbies the silver tabby, the brown tabby, and the red tabby. The classic tabby patterns has marks resembling a butterfly on the shoulders and swirls of oyster patterns on the flanks. A large letter 'M' Marks the forehead, and the neck has two necklaces or mayoral chains encircling it . Rings on legs and tail must be on trace of white hairs in any of the three varieties, a white tip to the tail being a particular fault.
