Rex Cats
Rex cats are produced by two quite separate genes giving two sorts of curled cats, the Cornish Rex and the Devon Rex. Cornish Rex have medium wedge-shaped heads with flat skulls, in profile. The eyes are oval and medium in size, of colour consistent with the coat. The tail is long and trapering, the body hard and muscular. The coat is dense and very fine, forming waves over the entire body, with the exception of the head, legs and paws where it resembles short plush. Eyebrows and whiskers are crinkled. These cats may be of any recognized colour or coat pattern.
Devon Rex are quite different in body structure, having short heads with full cheeks, the muzle showing a pronounced whisker break. Large, rounded wide-set ears set off the comical face with its slanting, oval eyes. The hard, muscular body is ideally covered in short, dense waves, and as in the Cornish, the whiskers and eyebrows are crinkled. Any colour or pattern is allowed and the eyes must complement the coat colour.
