Abyssinian
The Abyssinian comes first in this catalogue because of the alphabet, but its position is well merited. An imposing appearance, striking carriage, and lively intelligence have earned the Abyssinian a foremost place in the feline hierarchy. Its rich, warm colours and long, agile body make this beautiful cat an obvious cousin to the cougar and the puma.
By temperament though, the Abyssinian is gentle and friendly. It is also lively and athletic, and therefore less suited to apartment living than other breeds. According to some owners, it has one unusual trait-it loves to play in water.
